HashiParmentier is a logic puzzle game inspired by the famous Hashiwokakero game, where players must connect islands using bridges while following strict rules. This digital adaptation was originally developed as part of the final year project in the Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Le Mans, specifically within the Software Engineering 2 (Génie Logiciel 2) module.
The initial version of the game was created in Java using JavaFX, by a dedicated team of eight students. Its name, HashiParmentier, is a playful nod to the original game "Hashi", which the team humorously associated with the French dish hachis parmentier.
The project is now being continued and enhanced, with the goal of making the game easily downloadable and playable by casual users without technical knowledge. The new version focuses on improving user accessibility, refining the graphical interface, and providing a smoother installation experience.
HashiParmentier is more than just a game – it’s the result of collaborative software development, educational experience, and a passion for making logical puzzles fun and accessible to all.
